”I grew up in Argentina, surrounded by people with all kinds of professions, from engineers to honey producers. I knew I wanted to work with my hands, but not much more than that. One day, I walked past a culinary school and instinctively felt it was the right path for me. From that moment on, my life has revolved around food. My passion for working in luxury hospitality began in Aspen, Colorado. It was a golden era for chefs, when the whole world felt like a potential workplace. After my time in the United States, my career took me to Argentina, Italy and the Netherlands. My wife and I had recently returned to Argentina and welcomed our daughter when I was contacted by the Swedish Public Employment Service about an opportunity at Loka Brunn. We arrived in Grythyttan, in the heart of Bergslagen, in the middle of the pandemic, and the contrast to Buenos Aires was enormous. People weren’t wearing masks, and my young daughter and I could wander through the forests picking blueberries. I knew nothing about Swedish food traditions, but I quickly came to appreciate both the cuisine and the people.
When we moved to Gothenburg and I joined Upper House, everything fell into place. Here, I have the opportunity to continue developing my passion for food and hospitality alongside thoughtful, dedicated and highly skilled colleagues. I love the standards and ambition that come with our Michelin background, and I work hard every day to uphold Upper House’s high standards and create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Working at an organisation as large as Svenska Mässan Gothia Towers was new to me, and honestly, a little intimidating at first. But after two years, I only see the advantages. As a chef, I’m naturally competitive. I love pushing myself, and here I’m surrounded by incredibly talented people who inspire me to keep growing. The opportunities are endless.”
