Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers recognised as Sweden’s Best Managed Company

The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers has been named “Sweden’s Best Managed Company 2020”, an award conferred by Deloitte in partnership with Nasdaq. The award is bestowed on private companies based on criteria that assess strategic direction, ability to execute, corporate culture and financial performance. The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers is the first hospitality company to win the award.

The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers is one of Europe’s largest integrated meeting venues and organises and operates trade fairs, meetings, hotels, restaurants, a spa and a show arena. In the past ten years, the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre and Gothia Towers has doubled both its sales and its number of unique visitors.

“We’re proud that our business also boosts tourism revenue in the Gothenburg region, which totalled 3.3 billion SEK last year,” says Carin.

Best Managed Companies is a quality award to recognize the overall success of private Swedish companies based on strategic direction, ability to execute, corporate culture and financial performance. The award, which is conferred annually, is based on the company’s development over the past few years.

Best Managed Companies was established in Canada in 1993 and has since then been introduced in more than 20 countries around the world. Sweden’s Best Managed Companies was launched during 2018 by Deloitte in cooperation with Nasdaq. This is the second year of the award. An independent jury has selected the 18 companies which received this year’s award.

“Future growth is built upon robust internal processes. These companies have a clear vision and a forward-leaning approach. Such ways of working are of course even more important in turbulent times”, says Therese Kjellberg, partner at Deloitte and responsible for Best Managed Companies in Sweden.
